MFB firefighters received several Triple Zero (000) calls earlier today following reports of a fire at a Brunswick pub on Sydney Road.

All occupants were evacuated safely while crews worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire.

An initial investigation found that the fire started in the flue of a pizza oven in the kitchen downstairs.

Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to confirm that the fire had not spread to the first and second floor of the building.

The incident was declared under control at 12:05pm, 22 minutes after firefighters arrived on scene.
