Flinders Street building fire

MFB firefighters are on scene at a building fire on Flinders Street in Melbourne's CBD.

Crews responded to a triple-zero call of a fire at the address at 7.39am. 

On route, the appliances were advised by police that the fire was high in the building. 

There were reports that 11 people had evacuated from the building and to date no persons have been injured. 

A perimeter has been established around the address to limit vehicle and pedestrian movement. 

About 22 firefighters have been working to extinguish the fire which appears to be in the upper stairwell and on the roof of the three storey building. 

The fire was declared under control just before 8am.

The area will reopen once the incident has been deemed safe. 

Police and Ambulance Victoria are also in attendance.
