Flat fire in Hampton

back to list
15 Apr 2018
Crews were called to a fire on the second floor of a large block of residential flats on Bluff Rd at 6:03am this morning.

Firefighters in Breathing Appartus completed a search of the flat but found no one inside.

Adjacent flats were evacuated as a precaution.

The blaze had extended into the roof space above the flat, with live power lines down and a delay in isolating power also creating challenges for crews.

The fire was brought under control in approximately 25 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria also assisted on scene.

Crews will remain on scene throughout the day and the cause of the fire will be investigated.

A local council representative will also attend to inspect the building's structural integrity.
