MFB firefighters have spent the morning at a house fire in Forest Hill.

Multiple triple-zero calls were received just after 7am this morning.

Crews on route observed a large amount of smoke in the area and called for extra appliance to be dispatched.

On arrival they found a single storey, brick veneer house fully involved in fire.

All five occupants self-evacuated and were assessed by Ambulance Victoria, no reports of injuries have been received.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus aggressively attacked the fire with a number of hose lines and protected surrounding properties from the heat generated by the fire.

The fire was declared under control in 20 minutes.

At this stage a cause hasn't been identified and fire investigators will attend this morning.
