More than 25 firefighters have stopped the spread of a fire which took hold of a shed on North Avenue in Altona late Tuesday night.
Crews were alerted to the incident at 11:12pm following multiple Triple Zero (000) callers reporting explosions coming from inside the shed.
The first firefighting appliance arrived in six minutes and found a steel shed fully engulfed by fire and immediately called for additional resources.
Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines to stop the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties. Their quick work brought the fire under control in less than 15 minutes.
The shed suffered extensive damage but thankfully the surrounding properties were unharmed.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
CFA firefighters also assisted at the scene.
