MFB firefighters were called to a chlorine leak at a leisure centre in Broadmeadows this afternoon.

Crews arrived to the premise on Tanderrum Way minutes after the alarm was raised at 1:31pm.

Firefighters and HAZMAT specialists in splash suits worked to neutralise the chemical and make the scene safe.

Atmospheric monitoring was performed through the duration of the incident to ensure the safety of crews and MFB's Scientific Advisor also provided technical advice.

Crews were on scene for approximately three hours.
