21 Jan 2020
MFB crews responded to Diamond Avenue just after 10:45pm, following a Triple Zero (000) call reporting a garage fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene at the Albanvale residence within seven minutes and found the garage heavily smoke-logged.

Approximately 25 firefighters began an aggressive attack on the fire, to prevent it spreading to the attached residence.

The fire was declared under control less than 20 minutes after firefighters arrived on scene.

Thanks to the quick work of MFB crews, the fire was contained to the garage.

MFB crews remained on scene for some time, ensuring all hot spots were extinguished.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The exact cause of the fire is not yet known, but will be investigated by MFB’s specialist Fire Investigation Analysis Unit.

At the height of the incident there were seven firefighting appliances at the scene.
