Fire Investigators will probe the cause of a late night blaze which ripped through a St Albans garage.

Firefighters were called to the address in Luxford Street about 11pm last night following a number of Triple Zero (000) calls.

They arrived to find the garage and adjoining bungalow ablaze, with the fire threatening a nearby house.

Firefighters worked quickly to evacuate the house before mounting an agressive internal attack on the fire.

The incident was declared under control in approximately 30 minutes.

No one was injured during the incident but Ambulance Victoria conducted checks of the occupants as a precaution.

One MFB crew remained on scene overnight to ensure the blaze was fully extinguished and posed no further threat to the community.

Specialist Fire Investigators will today attend the property to investigate the cause of the incident.
