Fire in hairdressing salon, Preston

MFB will be in attendance for a number of hours

Just before midday today MFB received fire calls to a hairdressing salon in High Street, Preston.

Arriving on scene, crews found the single storey weatherboard shop well alight, with flames issuing from the roof.

Surrounding premises were evacuated and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus contained the fire to the roof space of the structure.

The fire was deemed under control in 40 minutes and fire investigators will determine the cause of the fire.

MFB will be in attendance for a number of hours.

Eight appliances and 20 firefighters tackled the blaze.
