Fire in Lygon Street restaurant

Firefighters have extinguished a fire which broke out at a Lygon St restaurant this afternoon.

Crews were called to the scene following multiple Triple Zero (000) calls.

The first truck arrived in under four minutes. 

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the smoke-logged building and managed to quickly contain the fire to a flue in the restaurant kitchen.

All patrons and staff had self evacuated prior to MFB's arrival.
