More than 25 firefighters were quick to respond following reports of a fire in Meadow Heights overnight.

Initial crews arrived in less than six minutes to the property on Hallston Ct and found the fire had taken hold of the rear of the house and was quickly moving into the roof space.

Firefighters entered the burning house and were able to isolate the fire and prevent it from destroying the rest of the home.

The fire was deemed under control after 30 minutes.

Thankfully all occupants safely evacuated prior to MFB’s arrival.

MFB specialist Fire Investigators will attend this morning to determine how the fire started.

At the height of the fire there were six pumper appliances on scene, a rescue unit and two other units.
