A number of Triple Zero (000) calls were received after a bedroom caught fire in Kelior East.

MFB firefighters arrived to the house on Eliza Street at 6:16pm to find thick smoke issuing from the property.

Crews made entry through the front of the house and found the fire located in a bedroom.

The quick work of crews prevented the fire from spreading and the incident was given the under control status after 12 minutes.

All occupants evacuated prior to MFB’s arrival. One person sustained an arm injury and was placed into the care of Ambulance Victoria.

The cause of the blaze was deemed electrical in nature.
