Fire Awareness Awards
Three MFB projects were recognised at the Fire Awareness Awards held in December 2011.
The event was staged at the RACV Club in the city, and the awards were presented by Fire Services Commissioner Craig Lapsley.
MFB was nominated in three different categories, winning two and receiving an encouragement certificate in the third.
SO Trent Curtin was presented with a Fire Services Award encouragement certificate for his project "In Flame: Turning Community Emotion into Fire Safety Action".
In a hotly contested section SSO Gary Mann was named joint award winner of the Fire Services Award for developing the Workplace Emergency Management Manual (WEMM).
Meanwhile, the Community Multicultural Award for "Fire & Football - Inter AMES Football Carnival" was won by the Western Bulldogs Football Club, of which the MFB were a supporting partner.
