The Fire Awareness Awards acknowledge the hard work and initiatives of individuals, groups and organisations in reducing the incidence and impact of fire in Victoria.
The awards are an initiative of the Victoria's fire authorities - MFB,CFA and DSE and are proudly supported by RACV Insurance.
Applications can be submitted in the following six categories:
Community: A not-for-profit, non-fire organisation, community care organisation or community group that has developed and successfully implemented an initiative to reduce the number and/or impact of fires.
Education: A primary, secondary, TAFE or tertiary educational facility that has developed and successfully implemented an initiative to educate students and/or the wider community about fire safety and/or fire prevention.
Government and Municipal: A government agency, excluding fire agencies, that has developed and successfully implemented an initiative to reduce the number and/or impact of fires.
Media: A media agency or an individual journalist who has increased awareness of fire safety and prevention in the community through responsible reporting.
Fire Services: A fire service, brigade, station or district depot, including an agency department, that has developed and implemented an initiative via fire safety measures and/or community education to reduce the number and/or impact of fires.
Industry: An industry product, service, workplace strategy or innovative design that has had a measurable impact on the community by reducing the number and/or impact of fires.
