23 Nov 2012
Fire crews responded to the single storey weatherboard house to find the rear section of the house well alight.

Fortunately there was only one person in residence at the time and he self evacuated prior to the arrival of fire crews.
Crews have had to take additional precautions due to asbestos being found in the premises.
MFB Fire Investigation Unit will investigate the cause later today.
A smoke alarm had been fitted, however, the owner is unsure of whether the alarm was operating at the time.  Fortunately he was awoken by the noise of the fire.
Approximately 15 firefighters attended the blaze.
