27 Jul 2013
A fierce blaze damaged a Parkdale garage and workshop on Saturday night.

Crews received the call at 8.34pm and attended to Mac Crescent.

Firefighters conducted an aggressive attack to contain the blaze, which affected the structure measuring 4m by 20m.

The fierce blaze was fuelled by numerous pieces of furniture stored in the shed as well as oils and other flammable liquids located in the workshop area.

Residents from the house were out visiting friends and were unaware of the fire until they returned home.

An electrical fault has been deemed to be the cause of the fire that took MFB and CFA crews just over half an hour to bring under control and almost two hours to fully extinguish.

The damage bill has been estimated at $50,000.

Seven appliances, including one CFA unit, attended the incident.
