Doncaster couple flees early morning house fire

A man in his thirties has been treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Doncaster overnight.

Firefighters were called to the single-storey Larkspur Avenue home at 3am.

On arrival they found fire had taken hold of the lounge room before spreading into the roof space and under the flooring.
The husband and wife who live in the home safely evacuated, however the man had to be treated for mild smoke inhalation at the scene.
The fire was deemed under control just before 4am.
The cause of the fire has not yet been identified and MFB Fire Investigators will attend this morning. 
Seven fire trucks attended the incident.
