Dog alerts woman to Dallas house fire

A woman was woken by her agitated dog just before 9.30am this morning to find her house full of smoke and on fire.

Fortunately she managed to self-evacuate safely with her pet.

Numerous 000 calls were received reporting that the house on Nyah Court was well alight.

MFB crews were quickly on scene and had the fire under control in 5 minutes.

MFB Firefighters confirmed that the occupants were safe.

The fire appears to have started in the shed and involving fencing and the rear portion of the single storey home. 

The kitchen and laundry have been fire damaged with the remainder of the property smoke and heat damaged.

MFB Fire Investigators and Victoria Police are investigating.
