Crews on scene at Coolaroo recycling plant

Seventy MFB firefighters are currently battling a blaze at SKM Recycling on Maffra St.

UPDATE: The blaze was brought under control at 10:24pm. Great work by crews on scene.

Called out at 7:29pm this evening, initial crews were on scene at 7:37pm.

The blaze involves bales of co-mingled recycling material located in a shed measuring 100 metres by 50 metres.

Firefighters in Breathing Apparatus quickly surrounded the building and attacked the fire using large streams of water and aerial appliances.

There have been no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
