Crews free man trapped underneath pier

MFB crews were called to Docklands following reports of a man trapped underneath Central Pier shortly before 9am this morning.

A member of the public heard the man's call for help, and immediately called Triple Zero for assistance. 

Initial crews arrived on scene in approximately 4 minutes, and our specialist Marine and Swift Water Rescue teams worked to free the trapped patient.

Thanks to the careful and quick work of crews, the man was successfully freed and has been placed in the care of Ambulance Victoria. 

Approximaltey 11 MFB Firefighters worked with the assitance of Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria throughout the rescue.
