Crews battle fires in Bundoora

MFB crews are currently responding incidents on Clovemont Way in Bundoora, following multiple Triple Zero calls received just before 2:30pm today.

The fires are not yet under control.

Victoria Police is on scene managing traffic and Ambulance Victoria is on standby.

A community evacuation message was issued.

UPDATE as at 5:05pm

More than 20 MFB and CFA firefighting appliances including a water-bombing aircraft are on scene tackling ongoing grass and spot fires in Bundoora.

Three houses have been impacted by the fire, with minor damage caused to their structures.  

MFB and CFA firefighters remain on scene to continue tackling the blaze with a wind change expected to come through this evening.

The incident is not yet under control.

Update as at 8:00pm

The fire in the Clovemont Way division was declared under control at 6:21pm. 

Firefighters will be on scene to monitor spot fires and conditions overnight to ensure the community and properties remain protected.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage and Victoria Police will be investigating the incident.
