MFB firefighters and HAZMAT specialists are currently on scene at a chemical spill in Essendon.
Crews were alerted to the property on Leslie Rd at midday after a container of formaldehyde spilled and caused the evacuation of the premise.
The area has been isolated and all occupants have been moved to a safe area.
Firefighters in splash suits and breathing apparatus are working to neutralise the spill.
One person came into contact with the chemical and is being treated by Ambulance Victoria paramedics.
Crews are expected to be on scene for some time.
