Chemical spill at airport

MFB firefighters are currently on scene at Melbourne Airport where a chemical spill has occurred.

Crews were called to the airport just before 3pm after a forklift driver accidentally pierced two bags filled with Sodium Thiosulphate.

Firefighters wearing protective splash suits are collecting the substance.

The incident is under control and the Airport Fire Service is also on scene.

No one was injured in the incident and no flights have been affected.
