Caravan and house fire in St Albans.

On arrival, fire fighters were confronted by a fire from within a twenty foot caravan, also alight was the front section of a single storey weatherboard house.

Address: Lyall St/Percy St, St Albans.

The female occupant of the house suffered severe burns to the face, arms and legs and was transported to the Alfred Hospital by Ambulance Victoria.

Unfortunately two small dogs that were in the caravan died as a result of the fire.

The caravan has been destroyed while the front section of the house including the contents has been severely damaged.

Under control in 20 minutes.

MFB Fire Investigation Unit was in attendance to establish the cause.
