A woman in her fifties has escaped injury after a car ploughed into the bedroom where she was sleeping overnight.

MFB firefighters were called to the Beachview Pde home in Point Cook at 4.33am.

The male driver, believed to be a resident of the same street, also escaped injury but was assessed by paramedics at the scene.

On arrival MFB crews found the car lodged in the bedroom window and significant damage to a corner of the house. A building surveyor will attend today to check the structural integrity of the property.

The incident was attended by MFB and CFA firefighters, Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and the State Emergency Service.
