Firefighters attended a car leaking LPG gas in the Barkly Street shopping strip at 1:13pm this afternoon.

Crews on scene decanted gas from the cyclinder and burned off the leaking gas using a specialised Flare-Off kit.

As a precaution, Barkly Street was closed to traffic and pedestrians.
