Car crashes into supermarket in Doncaster East

A vehicle has collided with the front of a supermarket just before 10am this morning.

MFB crews were called to the building on Doncaster Road in Doncaster East and found a single vehicle lodged into the front of the supermarket.

The impact caused damage to a column outside the shop, creating a hazard at the scene.

Specialist firefighters worked to safely remove the vehicle before shoring up the damaged part of the building.

Two people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash and are being attended to by paramedics.

More than a dozen firefighters responded including three pumper, a rescue unit and specialist units.
