Approximately 15 firefighters including specialist road rescue operators responded to Leonard Street in Burwood last night after a car crashed through a brick fence.

Initial crews arrived to the scene at around 10:30pm, just six minutes after the first call to Triple Zero (000).

The car had travelled through the front fence of a home, hitting and tipping a car parked on the other side, and finally coming to rest on top of the parked car.

The driver was transferred into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics for observation and later transported to hospital as a precaution.

There was minor damage to the home, and thankfully none of the occupants were injured.

Firefighters worked to make the scene safe and successfully removed both of the vehicles by around 11pm.

At the height of the incident there were three pumpers and a rescue unit in attendance, in addition to a support unit and Commander.

Victoria Police were also in attendance at the scene.
