A woman has been injured after a candle sparked a blaze in Ringwood East in the early hours of this morning.

Crews were called to the address on Mt Dandenong Road at 2.10am following numerous Triple Zero (000) calls.

They arrived in less than five minutes to find the brick unit in flames.

A female occupant of the home had self evacuated prior to MFB's arrival and was treated by paramedics for injuries.

Firefighters worked quickly to get the fire under control just 11 minutes after arriving on scene.

They were assisted on scene by the CFA, Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria.

MFB is reminding the community to be cautious around candles.
