15 Dec 2018
More than 20 MFB firefighters battled a house fire on Eley Road in Burwood that broke out just before 12pm.

Crews arrived in less than six minutes after being dispatched and were met with a single-storey brick and timber home producing a significant amount of smoke and flames.

More than 25 firefighters in breathing apparatus worked hard to bring the blaze under control in less than 40 minutes.

Thankfully, the occupants safely evacuated prior to the firefighters arrival and there is no report of injury.

At this stage the cause of the blaze has not been determined and crews are expected to be at the scene for some time.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were also in attendance.
