Brighton Blaze under control in minutes

back to list
12 Feb 2019
It took MFB firefighters just 10 minutes to get a fire which had spread to the roof space of a Brighton home under control this afternoon.

Crews responded just after 3pm today and were confronted with a blaze which had spread to the ceiling of a single storey home on Grandview Road.

Thankfully no one was home at the time, and there are no reports of injury.

Firefighters did locate two pet dogs in the backyard, and both escaped the blaze unscathed.

Crews in attendance believe the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault.

At the height of the fire there were approximately 27 firefighters on scene and seven firefighting appliances including an aerial teleboom unit.
