Bellfield house and garage fire

Firefighters have made quick work of a fire which ripped through a house and garage in Bellfield overnight.

Crews were called to the address in Ivy Street just before 3am and arrived to find thick smoke and flames issuing from the garage and roof line of the home.

Firefighters mounted an agressive attack on the fire and managed to get it under control within 30 minutes.

Two occupants of the home had self evacuated prior to the brigade's arrival. Luckily, no one was injured in the incident.

MFB Fire Investigators will investigate the cause of the blaze.
