Beaumaris blaze quickly extinguished

Firefighters made quick work to control a blaze and treat an injured person after a fire broke out in Beaumaris late Sunday morning.

Crews were called to the residence on Douglas Street at 11:21am following reports of smoke and flames. 

Initial crews arrived in less than three minutes and immediately attended to a man who had burn injuries and treated him until paramedics arrived. 

Firefighters then conducted an internal attack on the blaze donned in breathing apparatus and were able to contain the fire from consuming the home.

The fire was declared under control in less than 30 minutes.

Crews are currently ventilating the property and are expected to be on scene for some time. 

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
