Altona unit fire

Fire involved a two storey brick unit in a block of three units.

The fire was contained to the top floor, ( 6x6m ), of one of the units. That area including the contents and ceiling space has been severely damaged by fire while the ground floor (10x12m) has been damaged by heat, smoke and water. Other units in the complex were evacuated at the height of the blaze but were not effected by the fire.

Under control in 12 minutes. Breathing apparatus in operation.Fire duty in place overnight. MFB Fire Investigation Unit will attend during daylight hours to establish a cause.
