Albion home destroyed in suspicious fire

An Albion home has been destroyed in a suspicious fire.

Crews were called to the Ridley Street property at 1am on September 15.

On arrival, firefighters were confronted with a fire totally involving a single storey, vacant, weatherboard house measuring 15 x 20m.

The building has been totally destroyed by fire.

An exposure on the eastern side, a fence and an outbuilding has also suffered some fire damage.

An exposure on the western side, another house has suffered minor singing and cracked windows.

The fires was deemed under control in 20 minutes, and breathing apparatus in operation.

Fire investigators have determined suspicious circumstances and police are investigating.

The blaze caused approximately $200,000 damage.

Seven appliances, including the Breathing Apparatus Support, attended the incident.
