50 people evacuated from Broadmeadows factory after oven fire

MFB firefighters have been called to a Broadmeadows factory this evening to reports of a commercial oven fire.

 On arrival crews found the fire involved a 40 metre commercial conveyor oven.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus made access to the oven and extinguished the fire.

The factory was extensively smoke logged and firefighters have been assessing whether the fire spread into the roof space.

The fire was deemed under control in 30 minutes.

The cause of the fire has not been determined at this stage.

No injuries have been reported.
