Building Codes and Audits

Our Building Codes and Audits unit performs regulatory functions under the Building Act and Regulations.

The unit provides advice to industry including:

  • Report and Consent relative to Regulation 309 (Building Permit applications) of the Building Regulations.
  • Report and Consent relative to Regulation 1003 (Occupancy Permit applications) of the Building Regulations for compliance certificates
  • Comment to the Building Appeals Board on fire safety modifications to the Building Code of Australia
  • Fire Safety Audits
  • Hospital Accreditations
  • Written and oral advice on fire safety matters, on a consultative basis.
