Change your smoke alarm battery.

back to list

Victoria’s fire services are again calling on the public to change their smoke alarm batteries when they change their clocks at the end of daylight saving on Sunday 1 April 2012.

The 'change your clock, change your smoke alarm battery' campaign is an annual fire safety campaign promoting the importance of maintaining working smoke alarms.

Smoke alarms provide a vital early warning if there is a fire in your home; however they are only able to do so if they work! Smoke alarms are not much use if they are not fitted, pulled down or the battery is flat.

The MFB and CFA, together with Duracell, are urging all Victorians to change their smoke alarm battery this April because only working smoke alarms help save lives.
