Community Safety

The MFB believes that safety is best achieved through prevention, actively promoting safety messages by:

  • being involved in evacuation exercises with the public
  • participating in community programs and fundraising activities
  • participating in joint emergency training exercises with the Victoria Police and Metropolitan Ambulance Service
  • conducting building inspections
  • checking firefighting water supplies
  • checking firefighting equipment
  • promoting fire safety messages at community events
