About Us

MFB Reconciliation Statement

The Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board  (MFB) acknowledges that the Aboriginal people of Australia  are the original custodians of the lands and waters, animals and plants of Victoria and its many and varied landscapes.

The MFB acknowledges the richness, uniqueness and enduring heritage and culture of Aboriginal communities and recognises that the disadvantages they experience are caused by past and present injustices.

The MFB respects and endorses the Australian government’s apology to the stolen generations and joins the efforts to bridge the life expectancy gap between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians.

This commitment will be evident through adopting a pro-active approach to creating an inclusive and accessible organisation and services that will contribute to achieving the national goal of Reconciliation and the aspirations of the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities.
