About Us

Background

The work on Diversity in the MFB has evolved over many years and was formalised in 2001, when the Board endorsed an Access and Equity policy which stated:

  • The Board will ensure its services are accessible by all members of the community.
  • The Board is committed to having a workforce that more closely reflects the broad composition of the community it serves.

The purpose of the Diversity Development Framework is to provide a clear explanation of the MFB’s position in relation to the principles of equity and diversity and to guide actions to be taken by the MFB to achieve its stated goals.

The framework aims to assist MFB staff and stakeholders and the MFD communities to better understand what to expect from the MFB in relation to equity and diversity.
